Komar University Hosts Futsal League for all Universities

Komar University of Science and Technology recently concluded an exciting week of futsal action, hosting a boys’ league from March 3rd to 10th, 2024. The competition saw participation from seven universities across Sulaimani and surrounding areas, including Komar University of Science and Technology, University  of Human Development, University of Charmo, University of Garmian, University of Sulaimani, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the American University of Iraq/Sulaymaniyah.

After a series of 12 intense matches played on a two-loss basis, Garmian University emerged as the champion, showcasing exceptional skill and teamwork. The final match ended in a 2-2 draw against Sulaimani University. Garmian University, however, clinched victory with a 7-6 win in penalties. Sulaimani University secured the second place, while the University of Human Development took home the third place.

The league was organized by a dedicated committee and supervised by esteemed course supervisors Mr. Shkar Azad , Mr. Rebin Rauf, and Ms. Avan Khalid. The closing ceremony saw Komar University honor the referees, the organizing committee, and the participating teams, with special awards presented to the top three universities.
